Have God and His angels gone into hiding, or is His presence still felt and witnessed as it was in biblical times? This topic has been occupying my thoughts for quite a while. I often bring up this point when I sit with friends for critical thinking conversations.
The Disappearance of Documented Miracles
If you read the stories in the Bible about ancient times, you will notice that there are many accounts of people seeing the presence of God and His angels. But what about today?
The Importance of Documentation in Biblical Times
One point I consistently emphasize is that, from my viewpoint, the main difference between biblical times and now concerning God and the spiritual realm is that people have merely stopped documenting these strange sightings and occurrences.
In biblical days, people liked writing down every experience they found meaningful and wanted to share. I believe this was a very good practice because, without these writings, we probably wouldn't have the holy book with us today.
After I present this point, people often reflect and agree that it is indeed a good observation they hadn't thought about. Some people concur that they have considered it in the same way, while others do not. Most of the time, I notice that people disagree because they don’t fully understand or listen to the point I am trying to make.
Personal Experiences of God's Presence
God is still with us in today's generation. I cannot speak for the rest of the world, but I can speak for myself and the experiences I have witnessed with others. I have witnessed outcomes improve for me through prayer.
I have seen that God has prevented me from being at certain places where something bad was going to happen by directing me somewhere else safe. By calling on Him, He has helped me through difficult times and restored my health. Similarly, I have witnessed the experiences of others close to me who have also felt the presence of God.
The Power of Personal Faith
I believe that while many people can speak about God, truly understanding Him requires drawing near and having faith in Him. Only then will you experience His presence. The feelings you encounter will be beyond words. One night in my dream, I went to a beautiful place with beautiful music playing that made me cry.
The way I felt, it was like all my worries, troubles, and pain were over. I knew I was somewhere in the spiritual world, and honestly, I never wanted to leave that place. But I had to wake up; it seems God was offering me a glimpse of the experience.
Modern Technology and Its Impact on Perceiving Miracles
Something I believe is happening today is that with the different technologies, it seems now that anything is possible. So, we humans are no longer surprised by things compared to those in biblical days.
This could contribute to why we don’t find it necessary to log down something because we believe it is something usual and normal. Let me give a little example: In ancient days, people knew little about medicine. When someone got really sick and the medical person had done all they could to save them, and when all hope was lost, that person got well. This would be labeled as a miracle in ancient days, and I believe it is a miracle.
In contrast, today our doctors have all the necessary technology and advanced medicine, so when someone gets sick badly and recovers, nobody would even think it was a miracle. People would credit this to advancements in medical science. So even if a miracle happened, it is less likely to be noticeable as in the first scenario.
The Need for Spiritual Awareness and Documentation
I believe that by learning more about the spiritual world and getting close to God, we will start seeing His works and be able to document miracles and other wonderful things He is still doing for us. By documenting these, future generations will be able to see the works God has done for us today.
